“ Best tacos I’ve ever had. Ever. We got the grilled queso on the bread which made it fabulous. The strawberry margarita was excellent. It had lots of flavor, was a generous size, and affordable. The atmosphere was elegant, almost like a somewhat upper class Mexican place. Many Mexican places are tacky, but not this place. It’s nice. The San Diego burrito and the California burrito are both enormous and cheesy. They’ll fill you. And they taste great. Please be aware this place is not kid friendly. It’s a very small restaurant and does not have a kids menu. We have a 3 and 1 year old and would not take our kids here. ”
“ Okay, so picture this: my wife and I were casually scrolling through reviews (you know, doing the ‘Is this place going to betray our stomachs?’ research), when BAM—mouthwatering photos from Iztac Mexicana Cantina practically jumped off the screen and begged us to visit. And wow, are we glad we did! First off, the vibe? Adorably cute and welcoming, like walking into a hug. It’s clearly a family-oriented spot, and you can feel that warm energy the second you step inside. Now let’s talk food. We went for the Quesbirria for 2, and when I say it was HUGE, I mean it could feed two hungry adults with leftovers to make your future self high-five you. The flavor? Divine. Rich, satisfying, and—wait for it—easy on the stomachs. For two people with sensitive GI systems, this was like discovering a unicorn that also knows how to cook. Of course, we had to try the margarita flight, because we’re only human. Four little glasses of bliss, but the hibiscus? She’s the Beyonce of the bunch—standout, bold, and impossible not to love. Our waitress was a gem—attentive without hovering, kind, and clearly proud of the food she was serving (as she should be). Long story short: we’ve officially found our new cantina home. Iztac, you had us at birria. And hibiscus. And kindness. ”
“ Excellent food! Enchiladas were stuffed with shredded chicken and amazing flavors. Waitress was so kind and quiet yet busy atmosphere. Thank you. When we are back in town it will be a stop! ”
“ Before heading back to Raleigh, our family in Fredericksburg recommended this Mexican restaurant for lunch. Loved it! We ordered a queso dip and added Chorizo to the dip. I forgot the name of the dish, but it was big enough for 2 to share. I love Mexican artwork in the women's bathroom, and the floral wall when walking in. I am appreciative of how colorful everything is (I love Art) I forgot to take a picture of the margarita, I promise it was refreshing! ”
“ Found this place across from a store we were shopping in and decided to try it. Glad we did as it was fantastic food. Everything we had was great and the only thing not right was the sliced limes...yep, oddly enough no juice when squeezing them on the tacos. While I would have liked it, the Verde sauce was enough and their salsa is the best anywhere. Service was fantastic and menu covered all the traditional dishes and some I rarely see. I love the options that are served in the volcanic rock bowls...not sure why, it's just different and tasty. Anyways, great little place that deserves all the great ratings. We'll be back. ”
“ OH MY GOSH! Best Mexican food in Fredericksburg by far. I got the birria tacos and they were great. The rice was literally to die for which sounds dramatic but is true. I even had leftovers the next day and they were just as good. The owner supports the community so much and does great work for the schools when given the opportunity. PLEASE go and support this local business! ”
“ Blown away by this new restaurant. We went Saturday and rushed back on Tuesday. Food was phenomenal and the service was excellent. Great happy hour specials (daily 3-7, 5 dollar margaritas, 5.50 22oz drafts). Would highly recommend the birria tacos, quesadilla enchilada (lunch special), and the pastor and carnitas tacos. Can’t wait to try everything on the menu! ”
“ Kind of small/crowded restaurant, but possibly the best Mexican food in the Fredericksburg area. ”
